EuroQol and KMHO
EQ-5D Registration Explainer
EQ-5D has been used for over 30 years in clinical trials, population studies and real-world settings; informing important decisions by healthcare authorities and providers. Working with EuroQol and KMHO we created this explainer animation to show how simple the registration process is.
The challenge
As our second film for EuroQol and KMHO, it was important to make this whiteboard animation consistent with the first film. It was crucial for us to deliver a clear message to commercial and non-commercial users about the simplicity of the online sign-up process. Part of delivering this message meant relatable and realistic imagery, accompanied by a strong call to action directing viewers to the EuroQol website.
The film
A professional but approachable voiceover led viewers through the EQ-5D registration process, highlighting it’s simplicity. Icons allowed us to communicate important points such as EQ-5D's format options, while the inclusion of corporate and non-corporate settings helped us reach a broad audience. Moments like our central character triumphantly walking through a screen and flourishes like a building wearing a mortarboard added warmth and charm. Realistic illustration captured important and precise elements such as key sign-up process details, while a visually rich approach to data made it more memorable. This can be seen in the use of a coin as the basis for a pie chart. Combined, these elements delivered a clear and memorable message with a strong call to action.
About the client
The EuroQol Group began meeting in 1987 with the aim of developing a standardised non-disease specific instrument which could be used in clinical trials, population studies and real-world settings. The result was EQ-5D, which has since been used for over 30 years in over 90 countries, and translated into over 170 languages.
