Ha Joon Chang and the RSA
Economics Is For Everyone
About the speaker
Ha Joon Chang is an institutional economist, specialising in development economics – he’s also an impassioned author, whose incendiary books on global economics have won him numerous accolades. He has worked widely as a consultant and is currently a reader in the Political Economy of Development at the University of Cambridge.
The big issue
Leading economist and author Ha Joon Chang uses all his experience working with the World Bank, Oxfam, the U.N. and others to take us on a rollercoaster ride through modern economics. He asks us to challenge the pronouncements of economists, who have successfully made economics seem difficult, when in reality it’s 95% common sense. By dispelling the myths that surround economics and actively discussing it, we might actually be able to alleviate our problems if not solve them.
