Founder and Creative Director

Andrew oversees where We Are Cognitive goes creatively, driving our look, feel, and tone of voice.  

After graduating from art school, he worked with the accounting firm EY, supporting businesspeople by mapping out collective experiences, and showing how ideas connect. Andrew maintains that this firm of accountants taught him more about being an artist than art school, showing him the potential of art as a tool for understanding.  

He then worked as a scribe, rocking up at events and drawing, and built Cognitive around that idea.  

Drawing is how Andrew makes sense of the world. He’s the mind (and hairy hand) behind the well-renowned RSA animates series. With this series, he pioneered whiteboard animation and he feels proud of its continuing evolution, seeing talented people run with it and make it their own.
